(1,639 posts)The responses after the story were universally snarky and cynical.
"Stupid kids can't know anything about life."
"Selfish kids won't make any sacrifices of their personal comforts/pleasures."
"Hypocritical kids using paper, cars and plastic water bottles re: protest."
"No alternate energy is up to the task; fossil fuel is it." [Never mind that fossil fuel simply cannot last forever.]
"One day it's Tide Pod eating, next day climate protests." [Dude, the pod eating kids are the younger you. The protesting kids are the ones you thought were boring squares.]
"If the kids had to forego their air conditioning, they'd stop protesting." [Climate change is the reason so many more people need air conditioning.]
"People have been predicting doom and gloom forever; nothing's going to happen." [Said the frog enjoying his heated bath.]
"Those kids are only protesting because they don't have jobs to occupy their time." [And your job clearly keeps you too busy to write critical comments about other people's free speech.]
Also, apparently George Soros has time to mentor each and every one of these kids protesting around the world. Talk about keeping busy!
