Yesterday, about 60 people gathered in front of the county courthouse to strike for the climate. We stood in the rain with our signs and chants at a busy intersection.

Most passersby gave thumbs-up signs or honked their horns in agreement. It was fun.

Then an older, white guy, driving a rusting Ford pickup came slowly along the curb with his window down, wagging his finger and pointing. He yelled out, "You're a communist", as he passed each of us.
