It has hit the fan, and is spewing all over.

...Sure some people think that Trump will get away with it. He has in the past, but this one, in my opinion, is the worst. He may think he can get away with it, but he won't. When the great majority of people realize that the President contacted an adversary to get dirt on an opponent, the show will be over. Now this will take time. People will need talk to each other over and over. And listen to comments from unbiased experts.

...Trump, while President contacted an advisory, Russia, and asked to get dirt on a political opponent, Joe Biden....Trump's arrogance thinks he can get away with it. But, this will spew for a while, and when the great majority realize the essence of what Trump did, it will be over. One way or another.

Six Ways:

1..Loss of election,
2. Resignation,
3. Refusal to run again and settle down to his career at Fox News.
4. Isolation (like Nixon) but I think that is very unlikely
5. Combination of above.
6. Most unlikely: Charged with a crime, then resign.

might eventually learn that Russia was somehow involved as well, but thus far we have no actual information that indicates Russian involvement.

Let's think about it:
...Trump contacts the major opponent of the U.S.A., Russia, to get dirt on someone who he thinks will be his major political opponent. Joe Biden. And, evidently there is proof this was done.

Maybe Trump will get away with this too. My statements are obvious opinions.. It ain't up to me. And it will take time for this to be totally understood by most. We will see. But this will take time, one way or another.

to win the election? I was sure in 2016 when it came out that Trump was surrounded with Russians and others with connections to Putin and Russian intelligence, that they'd even changed the Republican platform. I really thought that killed his candidacy dead.

Didn't. Will they react so differently now than to the same thing then? He may be a man, but he's still a Democrat, and conservative voters have their rationales long embedded.

Sorry, because I want you to be right, at least for a significant little percentage. That bundle of straw on their backs should be getting pretty heavy for some.

But, of course, initial voter response is one thing and legal consequences whole different thing...!

They like his policies and are getting what they want .... they don’t give a crap about all his lawlessness. In fact they are probably snickering at the “libs” for getting all worked up over the Ukraine thing right now.

A small minority favored independence. Many liked things as they were. Many, if not most, had no opinion.

We need the Ben Franklins, Thomas Paines, Samuel Adams of our day to shout. Corporate McPravda won’t repeat what they say, but We the People can tell the truth.

without that shield, he'd be indicted and convicted. In office, he can use the levers of power (like AG Barr) to keep investigations at bay. I don't believe he will ever willingly leave office.

Republicans will support only Trump and Biden now has to explain and defend himself and his son even if he didnt do anything.
Trump's scandal will be soon overshadowed by another and this will be forgotten while the cloud over Biden will remain.
This is exactly what Trump wants and it will probably help his chances of winning 4 more years.

Dems who are dedicated enough to vote in the primaries are probably aware of Trump's games.
Of course Biden may not win anyway, but if he does, this would be used by Trump to damage him during the presidential campaign and it will have have a negative effect on Biden with general voters who don't keep up with all the scandal mongering.
Also it won't hurt Trump at all because his misbehavior will be lost among all the other scandals.

It's so frustrating that any slight deviation from the norm can seriously damage a Democrat while Trump completely destroys all norms and is openly criminal and it doesn't affect his popularity at all.
