🚨 VA state senator #AmandaChase just threatened to shoot and kill children that support gun control 🚨

If you threaten to shoot children that simply don’t want to die you shouldn’t be able to own a gun— let alone be an elected official.

Call Sen Chases office

WTF is wrong with these people? Such violence of words has no place in the political discourse.

Assigning alternate meanings into ambiguous quotes is propaganda. It excites those without a grasp of the English language and it’s idioms.

There are enough genuine problems without “crying wolf” about this one.

So clearly stated, thanks.

And the result is to undermine belief in our integrity, already very weakened by constant barrages of propaganda. Our electorate desperately needs to know they really do have good choices.

“Shoot down” means “reject”. As is “I’m going to ask for a raise but the boss is most likely going to shoot me down.”

And she didn’t mention kids at all...

Still... I can’t believe her choice of words with “shoot” doesn’t have some dog whistle reason.

And frankly it doesn’t matter. The very fact she (and any politician like her) are openly fighting to maintain the current system is BAD ENOUGH without twisting her words. I.e anyone who is anti-control deserves to be cast as pro-massacre regardless of their choice of words.

In your boss metaphor, you're not also showing a picture of your boss aiming a firearms at something or someone. You see, shit like this is how we end up with the Gabby Giffords shooting and Comet Pong.

so this cannot be dismissed as simply a poor choice of words.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/thinkprogress.org/virginia-lawmaker-capitol-police-womens-rights-restricted-parking-amanda-chase-fcd6c15ea717/amp/

"According to a March 22 incident report, first picked up Wednesday by The Richmond Times-Dispatch, Chase pulled up to the pedestrian plaza outside the Pocahontas building at the state capitol and demanded to be let into the restricted area. The officer assigned to that entrance refused to lower the barricade to let her pass, stating that she would not be allowed in without permission from the House of Delegates clerk’s office.

Chase refused to move her car to make way for several buses waiting in line behind her, and told the officer that she was “not going to move unless you let the fucking barricades down to let me in.”
.... "Aren’t you supposed to protect me?” Chase asked the officer, before allegedly claiming, “You don’t know equality of women’s rights.”

According to the report, Chase noted her position and her senate license plate and said she did not want to park in the nearby parking deck where lawmakers are typically assigned to park because she was in fear for her life. Chase carries a firearm openly on her hip, stating earlier this year that she did so to deter activists from accosting her publicly.

After being denied access to the plaza again, the officer stated that Chase complained that the senate clerk “get[s] to park her fat ass up front.” The officer claimed Chase called the clerk “Miss Piggy.” The house and senate clerks are two of the people with assigned spots in that plaza."....(more)

As you can see in the incident report

Asking if the officer knew who she was and demanding special privileges...classic Palin.

I’m surprised my own rather useless state house rep hasn’t tried that yet.

call this woman out for her offensive statements and deeds. Still - he seems to be exaggerating here - unless there is additional context, like she posted this in response to an organization that is fighting to stop school gun violence. The statement from the Texas congressman about having his weapon ready for Beto was much more direct and threatening - this is not the same.

"Sen. Amanda Chase, R-Chesterfield, revised a Facebook campaign ad on Friday that groups working for gun control said targeted them with potential violence but her campaign called a “communications oversight.”

The ad shows Chase with a pistol at a firing range beneath a message from the senator that originally said, “I’m not afraid to shoot down gun groups.”

Campaign manager Philip Search said the third-party media team that produced the ad used an incorrect statement. In the new statement, Chase says, “I’m not afraid to shoot down attacks from any anti-gun groups, because gun rights are women’s rights.” (more)

even in the "revised" version of the add, the word "shoot" is used.
I get it. "Shoot down" is a commonly used phrase but, to the gun addicts, it's a dog whistle.

Not a real threat here, but an example of extreme moral retardation, to say the least.

There were so many other way to say defeat gun groups. Hogg used the wrong words but also knew what she ment. What else can you think when pictures of this woman constantly include her guns and the reason given to open carry.
