Schiff: Impeachment 'could be the only remedy' if Trump pushed Ukraine for dirt on Biden
By Rebecca Klar - 09/22/19 09:57 AM EDT

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said on Sunday that impeachment "could be the only remedy" if President Trump asked the leader of Ukraine to find dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden, a 2020 Democratic White House hopeful.

Schiff, who has been reluctant to push for impeachment, said on CNN's "State of the Union" it "may be that we do have to move forward with that extraordinary remedy" if Trump sought information on Biden.

" want the country to understand this is the last resort," Schiff said.

"The president is pushing us down this road."

Trump has said that he won't discuss the call with Ukraine's president, and the White House refuses to release a transcript or the whistleblower complaint.

"Clearly, the president is afraid for the public to see either one of those things," Schiff said on Sunday, adding that House Democrats will make sure the public does see them.

The president's attorney, Rudy Giuliani, had previously admitted having called Ukraine about investigating Biden, but Schiff said on Sunday the allegations over Trump's direct call are more alarming.

"It's one thing when done by the court jester, another when done by the king," Schiff said.

and a few others.

That said, while I wish the presidency went to the most qualified and smartest person every 4 years, I'm not sure he has the charisma to win it all

If, and I said if the two are working together, Nancy will be the next to make a statement just like Schiff's. And, I believe deep inside my soul, that Nancy is not blocking impeachment. Nancy is working with the very best people to make sure that this is done correctly.

...I believe that Nancy is waiting for the best time to get started on impeachment. Timing is everything in politics. Especially a move as important as .."impeachment."

As Giuliani , Trump, Barr and their crowd discuss this and that, it becomes clear what needs to be done. The question is not....if...the question is when.

.... the American people are not there yet.

Over the past few months, House Democrats have been building support for impeachment within the caucus. But they haven’t brought the American people with them.

Even as nearly two-thirds of Democratic members favor impeaching President Donald Trump or at least opening an impeachment inquiry, a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll shows they haven’t made the sale to voters. Only 37 percent support beginning impeachment proceedings, while half oppose it. Just 12 percent of voters are undecided.

if their leaders aren't using all their power to force people to testify by charging them with Inherent Contempt. It's called "leadership" for a reason.

Why? For the apocalyptic level of attention?
So he can play his favorite WATB victim act?

I'm beginning to think this is what's going on, but I don't get why.

I'm sorry Rep. Schiff, but indeed there are other remedies "should" the congress continue to fail to do it's constitutionally bound job.

"if" only the congress "could" do the job we sent them there to do.
