https://www.politico.com/story/2019/09/22/trump-testimony-legal-deposition-1507272A lawsuit brought by protesters who contend they were roughed up by security personnel outside Trump Tower in 2015 has suddenly become an urgent problem for President Donald Trumps legal team after a New York judge ruled Friday that Trump must submit to a videotaped deposition in the case.
...
Trumps lawyers could ask the judge to delay the trial or file an appeal to try to block the order for the presidents testimony. Theres also the chance of an emergency appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court or that Trump might simply ignore the judges order and see what sanctions she imposes.
...
Trump is named personally as a defendant in the suit, along with the Trump Campaign, the Trump Organization and Keith Schiller, who served Trump for years as a security guard and later as Director of Oval Office Operations at the White House.
Trumps efforts to avoid testifying in the case have collided with the U.S. Supreme Courts 1997 ruling requiring President Bill Clinton to submit to a deposition in a federal lawsuit brought by a former Arkansas state employee, Paula Jones, who accused Clinton of sexual harassment while he was governor of the state. The unanimous opinion said there is no immunity for a president sued over events taking place before he entered office.

This is so unfair! Do they seriously expect Trump to perform the inhuman task of keeping lies separate from truth?

OP
Don't worry. He'll just push it up to his own supreme Court and they'll get him off the hook.

but I don't see what the big deal is.
I certainly don't see anything in it that shows his lawyers in "panic-mode."
All Trump will have to do - assuming that he doesn't get it postponed - is submit an affidavit. He won't have to appear, and there is no personal liability or consequences here for him. The Trump organization, or more likely their insurance carrier, would pay any damages.
