because the stuff in the whistleblower report is even worse.

(25,183 posts)Been there, done that, with the Mueller Report/testimony.
I refuse to believe that Trump is capable of playing out any strategy, that would assume that he possesses reasoning powers that no one has to date seen so far.

(7,622 posts)Unless it is to drunkenly blather on national teevee using as many networks as possible that Trump has committed several felonies and admit to having participated as well. Evidence will be forthcoming and it will undoubtedly be worse than we have imagined. There will be stuff coming out no one has even thought of as yet.
These evil, power and money hungry criminals haven't gotten away, not by a long shot and there is a limit to what even their enablers in Congress and their dim witted constituents will ignore or tolerate.
The only question is how much damage will they do until they're brought to Justice and how long it will take to undo it.

It looks as though hes trying to soften the blow because he knows the content will be damning. Hes doing what Barr did with the Mueller Report: gradually releasing/admitting to parts of the story so we dont absorb it all at once, to keep us numb to it all.

(11,537 posts)Trumps lifetime of criminal activity may finally be catching up with him. I wonder if he understood the level of public scrutiny that comes with the presidency. Or, more likely, he saw multiple dollar signs and thought the risks would be worth it. Regardless, its beginning to look like most of the Republican party belongs behind bars. The GOP has evolved into a well-organized crime family.

(56 posts)There is another element of the story that is missing. Worse than
conspiring with a foreign government to bring scandal to a political foe, the full
story has even more far reaching implications that affects our national security.
What gives me hope is that we have 2 members of our government, the IG put into
place by Trump himself and the other -the whistleblower possibly a previous member of the Trump
Administration ( possibly Coates, or John Bolton) who are willing to bring this to light. They would
not have undertaken this course without having eyes wide open of what obstacles they would face, and
are willing to risk their futures by speaking up.
