(10,302 posts)Some of it is Brexit - people putting off buying a package holiday. Most of this is just stiff competition.
I bought my first plane tickets via Thomas Cook (British Airways). It's a shame but they simply couldn't reinvent themselves quickly enough.

(25,183 posts)the major factor. I don't know what effects Brexit will have on British firms, but my suspicion is that it will be less than most people think. The British never signed on to the euro.

(6,110 posts)Couldn't agree more! I have done more than 30 cruise vacations and in every case, I found the best price on the internet, usually directly from the cruise line itself. The days of travel agents are gone.

(81,433 posts)The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said the government had asked it to launch a repatriation programme over the next two weeks, starting on Monday and running to Sunday 6 October, to bring Thomas Cook customers back to the UK.
