bigger risks to manipulate. Remember hearing that trump can "win" a state with a 45 approval rating - so it is one indicator. Some of these are dangerously close.

Hauling him out if he loses is the last thing I worry about. I worry more that there will be major chaos with the returns. Let's say his approval is at 43% in a state and our challenger has a decent lead in matchups. Then, trump mysteriously "wins". Hope we will be ready for this. And come up with a good media strategy and POA.

Really?
We're looking at an election turnout of between 140 and 150 million people and a current Trump approval rating of 40%.
Assuming that 5% vote for alternate candidates, that leaves 55% voting against Trump.
If that's the case, then 77 to 82 million voters will have already held him accountable and they will be damn sure he is gone on 1/21/2021.
Also, the Secret Service is full of career people who have been there for several presidents. They aren't going to let Trump squat in the White House.
I can't imagine a situation where the people of this country would put up with Trump seizing power.
Every day Trump says something that loses him votes.
Every day the majority of people in this country look forward to seeing him gone.
They will hold him accountable.
You can be sure of that.

Your ideas are what I've been clinging to for the last 3 years. There's no doubt he will try and either A) call off the election altogether by starting a war or something and declaring a "national emergency", or B) try and throw out election results in which he loses. He knows as soon as he leaves office, he goes to jail.

My hope has always been with the Washington career people who are there to serve The Constitution who will be wiling to haul his fat ass out of the White House at 12:01 on 1/21/2021.

However, if a call went out to throw this bum out, I'd bet there'd be throngs in the streets outside the White House, because people would actually show up! And in all seriousness, I honestly think our military and security community would open the doors for us.

Very true. But again, I have to put my faith in our intelligence and military community to make sure he doesn't succeed in pulling that kind of shit. For instance, and I never knew this until about a year ago, the military CAN refuse to follow an order from him. He can't push that button alone. Besides, I'll be willing to bet they never gave him the real codes.

About 80 of the 88 are Red...rural...Republicans. The big counties like Cuyahoga (Cleveland), Franklin (Columbus), Hamilton (Cincy), are typically blue. The mid sized cities in Summit (Akron), Montgomery (Dayton) and Lucas (Toledo) are also typically blue. Then smaller counties like Trumbull/Mahoning (Youngstown) and Athens (Ohio University.) That's about it.

Morrow County too small to mess with the totals, but Rove's minions sure worked on the big counties over night. I always said that was a sign they only massage the totals in populous counties. There is more to massage. Not so obvious.

Mon Sep 23, 2019, 10:41 AM
Sep 2019

I was able to win a few over to our side in the 2018 mid-terms while canvassing.

Texas is a state with its own form of nationalism pride. "Don't mess with Texas" and all that kind of ridiculous crap.

Many still harbor ill feelings on the way he attacked Ted Cruz, and his family during the 2016 primary season.

Many are not happy with the rising deficit.

Many do have a problem with his "New York" persona, and find him crude and rude (also part of what turns many off on Bernie as well).

While much of the rest of the conservative south is willing to overlook it, many in Texas do have a problem with his cozying up to Russia, and North Korea, and Saudi Arabia.

This is why, up until a couple of weeks ago, I was so dedicated in my support for Beto. I saw a real chance of us capturing Texas 28 electoral votes and making the entire rust belt/Mid-west less relevant in 2020.

Mon Sep 23, 2019, 11:04 AM

Trump is incredibly dangerous. He could win again, so be prepared for that. The electoral college could again go his way. But say he loses. He could claim millions of illegal votes. He could claim fraud. He could demand recounts. He could flat out refuse to leave office. If nobody is willing to hold him accountable, anything is possible. If you could rob a bank and everyone knew you did it, but the police would not arrest you, where is the law? There is no law. You can do anything you want. That is where Trump is. On a positive note, he might just get tired of playing President and want to lose and leave. Or McDonald's might be doing a number on him and his health fails. Who knows? But our democracy is in terrible jeopardy.
