"QUIET!" Trump gets a little testy with reporters over his "perfect" Ukraine call, and impeachment.

https://www.rawstory.com/2019/09/quiet-trump-snaps-at-reporters-as-he-rants-about-his-perfect-phone-call-to-ukraine/

As Trump arrived at the U.N., he was asked how seriously he took the impeachment threat.

“Not at all seriously,” the president said dismissively. “I had a perfect phone call with the president of Ukraine. Everybody knows it. It’s just a Democrat witch hunt. Here we go again. They failed with Russia, they failed with recession and everything, and now they’re bringing this up.”

According to Trump, “the one who’s got the problem is Biden.”

“Quiet!” the president demanded after one reporter asked about the whistleblower who outed his conversation with Ukraine’s president.

He's as guilty as sin and he's going down eventually. And I can't wait for the spectacular fall. There aren't words to describe how much I hate this fucking bastard.

The entire world would just swoon at his feet if they only saw his perfection. It's the same reason he forbids any taping of his golf outings. Can you imagine the public adulation that would follow Trump for the rest of his days if we saw him shoot an 18 again and again? It would overwhelm his self-effacing persona!

I won't give any details, but I've watched (from afar) one such country degenerate into a full-blown dictatorship, and this is the sort of behavior its leader engaged in: scolding reporters, telling them that they needed to treat him with respect. Today, there is not a single reporter there who would dare to question him. Civilians are put in jail for merely speaking out against him.

What Trump did with NOAA was exactly the sort of thing that would have happened in the early days of a dictatorship: the president threatening to fire the leadership of NOAA if they didn't support him. That was extremely disturbing, and yet everyone has already forgotten about it.

Americans think they're better than the rest of the world, and that they somehow own democracy. But democracy isn't a given; if you allow your leaders to ignore its principles, it won't be long before you lose it. The fact that it doesn't bother people when Trump shuts up a reporter is a very bad sign. I fear for this country.
