Democrats seem willing to attack their own. Why on earth are we attacking the House Democrats and Nancy Pelosi instead of attacking Republicans for their failure to hold trump and the rest of this corrupt administration accountable? I just don't get it.
If Democrats initiate impeachment with only Democratic support, we can count on Republicans to do the same thing to any Democratic president. If you think for a moment that Republicans won't manufacture some scandal out of nothing, you weren't paying attention during Benghazi. Of course, they will.
We also know that the Senate will never hold him accountable unless the tide turns monumentally. That will just give trump a win. Once he's been impeached and exonerated, he'll be free to continue on his merry way knowing we can't impeach a second time.
The obvious thing to do is pound the Republicans for their lack of oversight. Will it change things? Probably not, but that's what we should do. Attacking our own is stupid beyond belief. We're just parroting the nonsense from the MSM.
While we're at it, if we're really so intent on impeachment, why aren't we out in the streets daily, demanding trump's removal, and telling the Republicans to take their responsibilities seriously (as they did with Nixon).
I rarely do OPs but I'm fed up with blaming Democrats for that pile of excrement in the White House.

(16,616 posts)I agree. We get the best bang for the buck by investigating Trump but not voting to Impeach him (at least for now).
But I do suggest we need to be much more aggressive in congressional hearings to enforce the law. I actually think if we did that, some Democrats who furiously want impeachment might even ease off a little bit, because we would be showing strength.

(7,997 posts)trump is stonewalling more than Nixon ever thought about. It will be like pulling teeth to get the documents and testimony.
