Trump's statement about taking over the U.S., will be the start of impeachment.

He said it for all to see and hear. I think those hearings will start soon. It is now much easier to start those hearings than it was yesterday before he said, "When I took over the United States."

And so far none of those things have been the start of anything; Fat Nixon just keeps rolling along. I'm not expecting this to be any different.

And, if I am wrong, well at least I will admit it, and it isn't the first time.

They'll just ignore it. They make up their own rules and laugh at us when we think we have any authority to make them comply.

Feeling particularly cranky and not hopeful in the least today.

Tying every republican running for office to that statement from their leader should be effective.

What about the Sharpie? I thought that was going to bring him down! Are you saying the Sharpie doesn't matter anymore and this is what will lead to impeachment; until the next thing comes along and this is forgotten?

The statement though typical Trump stupidity wasn't really even that egregious. He said, "when I took over the United States, when I became president." Which to me just sounds like his typical poverty of content. He can't find the right words to express a coherent statement. Much like when he says, "the biggest, most powerful..." to describe things that wouldn't fit those descriptors. When he said, "I had the perfect phone call", which means absolutely nothing, or anything.

We know that he is a wannabe strongman, that has been known since he was running for president. He didn't just "let it slip" that he literally took over the US as in a coup. He was just making another stupid statement that I think we may be reading too much into.
