I have never applied for a permit to assemble on the National Mall. In a general way, I

understand that the National Park Service, the DC police would like some idea of who is assembling, for what purpose and how many are expected and that would help them gauge the personnel and other resources that would be needed. BUT,-----

---what law is broken if several hundred thousand people just decide to peacefully stand on the Mall while carrying signs and wearing tee shirts that , say, demand impeachment? And, if this group was to walk down to the Capitol, fill the yard, surround the pools and fountain and chant "Do your duty! Remove Trump!"---peacefully, of course---what could be done, legally, to stop them?

I am sure some who monitor this site know the answer to those questions. I hope some will educate me as to whether a "spontaneous" flash mob of a quarter million or so would be illegal.

My final question is "Who else is ready to get arrested for assembling to protest this insanity?" As Officer Malone asked Elliot Ness in "The UntouchablesWHAT ARE YOU PREPARED TO DO?

"WE THE PEOPLE Protest March Sept 21st!
https://wethepeoplemarch.org/solidarity-marches/

Protests are being organized a month ahead of the planned date in order to get people informed and give them time to plan to attend. Over 40 are already planned across the US. Check out the link and see if one is near you."

I posted it several times on DU under Activist Headquarters.
