California governor says at climate event that he is 'humiliated' by Trump
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on Monday hammered President Trump on the climate crisis, the Los Angeles Times reported, saying he's "absolutely humiliated" by the president's approach.
“I don’t know what the hell happened to this country that we have a president that we do today on this issue,” Newsom said at the opening ceremony for a Climate Week event in New York.
“Because it’s a damn shame. It really is. I’m not a little embarrassed about it — I’m absolutely humiliated by what’s going on.”
Newsom is in New York, where the the United Nations Climate Action Summit is taking place, highlighting how California is addressing climate change.
