"We need to remember how beautiful our world was," would be more appropriate.

Went to Vancouver Island in 2000 to take a shot at it, but instead saw a pod of orcas from a boat, ah well, no regrets

This footage is simply enchanting, HERETIC, thank you!!

If you ever go there to visit, do two things:

First, make sure that the brakes on your vehicle are in excellent working condition.

Second, take a real nice camera or video camera. The scenery is beyond absolutely stunning. There are turnouts on the only road into and out of the highlands, coming down you will need to stop in them to allow your brakes to cool. You will see the beautiful and deep mountain valleys to your left coming down, and far below will be an expansive view of the ocean, on a clear day, you will see whales playing in the ocean well below you. Those were the type of views that a person can never forgets.

I'd like to see the Gray Whales in San Ignacio Lagoon. They'll swim up to the boats.
There is a documentary from a series called "Into the Wild" and Christopher Reeve did an episode on the Gray Whales, it was the last thing he filmed before his accident.

It IS so beautiful......but I can’t forget the turtle with a plastic six pack holder wrapped around his shell, or the turtle with fish line wrapped so tight around his flipper that it’s worthless to swim. Or all the other marine life with PLASTIC killing them one way or another. But this scene is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Here is one example, but not the one I was thinking of.;

There are scores of such videos where various sea creatures seem to ask for help (Edit: - from divers) when they get entangled.

We were halfway between Miami and Bimini one summer when we dropped anchor to swim in the beautiful crystal clear water, and dive for Conch. Out of nowhere, 10 huge (6' across) brown rays appeared along side us. We had never encountered anything like this before, and we just kind of did the tread water thing not knowing what to expect. They surveyed us and decided we were no threat and swam right up to us, close enough to touch. [FYI: they feel just like dolphins do.] They stayed with us for about 10 minutes, playing around us and jumping in and out of the water --- One jumped over my head !!!

Then just as quickly as they appeared, they disappeared. The four of us had to get out of the water just to collect our thoughts. It was one of the most incredible things that has even happened to me.

Nothing can compare with the spontaneity of Nature.

That's a nice breaking wave and wonder if it's Margret River. Those animals were in relatively shallow water too.

There is a common theme in many of our First Nations peoples' oral tradition:

Walk in beauty.

I try to remember that every day.

“Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much — the wheel, New York, wars and so on — whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man — for precisely the same reasons....

Very cool!!
