And I pray for the day that he, his family and enablers are all prosecuted and put in jail. The country needs this reckoning, like a family needing the bonding of an intervention. It may be tough and painful, but the only way to heal is through it. Onwards!

What we have to hope is that there is a portion of the FauxRushLimbotomy that is reachable.
Some that haven’t heard about all of the impeachable things he’s done and that they care.

Right now, only a subset of U.S. citizens know much about the lawlessness of Trump and GOP.

The impeachment inquiry can make a big difference in the size of that subset.

It's not a done deal, it's an investigation, a legal and political trial in the Senate. But if the journey's end is uncertain, it doesn't mean you don't begin it. You fight the good fight, and if your case is true, based on Constitutional principles that any reasonable person would agree with, then you stand a good chance of picking up large majorities along the way.

We need to present a rock solid case to the public so average voters will support it.

Glad to see Betty agrees with Nancy's strategy.

She does hit the nail on the head BUT it amazes me how many people think she doesn’t fucking know this.

It has to be exhausting fir Pelosi.

It must be like a heart surgeon listening to the whole world telling her that she has to clamp the aorta and she is thinking I need to make the incision first but even before that I need the nurse to hand me the scalpel.

"Speaking as a lawyer even on obstruction of justice Democrats don't have the evidence. What they have is a heavily redacted Mueller "Report" that tells them obstruction of justice may have been committed on 10 occasions.

What they need is testimony and/or documents from the witnesses Mueller gathered evidence from OR the grand jury evidence itself.

They've petitioned the court for the grand jury evidence but I'm unaware that a FRCP Rule 6(e) hearing has even been scheduled by the court.

They've so far been blocked in obtaining testimony under oath from witnesses other than Lewandowski the other day. They got some things from him when he was grilled by the consulting lawyer at the end but there again they need other witnesses to corroborate what they got from him.

They also have testimony and evidence from Michael Cohen but again they need grand jury evidence from SDNY to confirm and back up Cohen's assertions.

The same goes for Trump's taxes and financial records which they've won the right to so far from lower courts but are awaiting Appellate Court and possibly Supreme Court ruling.

The problem Democrats and Pelosi have is if the vote on Articles of Impeachment were held now based on the EXPECTATION of obtaining the evidence they need they're fucked if they don't get it."

That's the way to look at it. There will be a lot of blustery posturing, but we should all know that that is how they work.

I am also going to predict that Trump will resign if impeachment is inevitable. He will cut and run and there are many good reasons for him to do that, despite his public face about it. It is his only "win".

For one thing, think about him at the proceedings. Oh, and brand? I could go on.
