The "Trump wants to be impeached" / "Trump DOESN'T want to be impeached" debate
As potential impeachment became the main topic of yesterday's cable news, pundits are ping-ponging between "Trump wants to be impeached" / "Trump DOESN'T want to be impeached" with equal conviction.
And the SADDEST part of this is that the logic works from both sides.
1). A flood of NEW Trump choruses of "no collusion, no obstruction" if the proceedings make it to the Senate and Mitch refuses to let it come to a vote, as Bill Barr, Kellyanne Conway, Steven Miller, Ivanka, Don Jr, and Lindsey Graham join hands at the on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and sing "We Are The World" (Melania won't be there...trust me).
2). His Achilles heel is STILL his ego, impeachment will be the crown jewel of his "legacy," and no matter WHAT he "says," this will be a bitter freakin' pill for him to swallow. Your kids, grand kids and THEIR grand kids will learn about Trump all over the world, and every teacher's lesson will begin with "Donald Trump, who was impeached in his first term..."
For my friends on DU who were around for (and / or are aware of) Nixon's Watergate years, IMAGINE if he had run around crying about all of the Nobel prizes he should be winning, as the hearings ramped up around him daily. Imagine if he took a cheap shot at a 16 year old girl who shows more courage in a single day than he's shown in his entire life.
