Maybe a court of bouncy balls mixed with hypodermic needles from the homeless, just after the labyrinth of cages.

So while there has been no increase in total miles of fencing, there is some newly built wall that was used to replace old wall.

from the article: "To date, the administration has replaced about 60 miles of dilapidated barriers with new fencing" (italicized in the original)

The funds were already allocated.

Perhaps it seems nitpicky but facts are stubborn things. It doesn’t matter who is President. The work would still be done.

The fact is Trump and all his blustering chest beating hasn’t built a single thing while president.

If the replacements were of identical design to the originals they were replacing, that's one scenario. If the replacements used a different newly developed design, that's another scenario. Unless I missed it, the article did not say which of those things were done.

For Trump they have erected samples of walls. Prototypes.

https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2017/10/26/trump-eight-border-wall-prototypes-marquez-dnt-ac.cnn

And click on the thumbnail video under the prototype video to see what the wall really looks like.

...but I did find a video that answered my question about replacement of existing wall (I'm not talking about repair or "adding some paint to a rembrandt," I'm talking about actual replacement for parts of the barrier, which is part of what has been done), and a Jake Tapper report said that the money earmarked for this purpose specifically could only be spent on existing designs approved prior to May 2017, which he said precluded using any new Trump-approved design for the replacement portions. That's the info I was looking for, that even the newly constructed replacement wall has been built with old designs.

Mexican side of the border.

You can tell it is the American side of the border because the access road next to the fence is part of the Border Patrol's road network. That road not only allows for vehicular access but, more importantly, it is graded (like a baseball diamond at 7th inning) so that they can see tracks for those that have jumped from the Mexican side. You can see that the width of the road is more than anyone could jump but experienced border crossers bring their own screen made of brush so that they can wash the obvious signs of shoe tracks away.

I spend 90% of my day talking to Latinos who speak English and am currently in Douglas half a mile from the border. Not sure why you commented on the likely ethnic origins of the jumpers because my comment had nothing to do with any ethnic identity.

My point was simply that the title of the OP was technically incorrect, these are Americans climbing the fence from the American side.
