Professional, calm demeanor. Cogent questioner, has command of the minutiae.

I don't know of anyone else I'd trust to lay out a compelling case to the public while Trump et al are screaming at the top of their lungs.

chair assignment will be a gruelling one, mentally and physically. He should definitely be ON the committee, but without the burden of the chairmanship. Thanks for your response.

I wasn't overly impress with Nadler in the Lewandowski hearing. Schiff is very measured in what he says and would offer the gravitas that the hearing would need.

Schiff would be excellent.

I do wonder if they would name the current chair of a critical committee to chair this panel giving the responsibility and workload he already has. They may come up with someone we haven't even thought of who doesn't already chair a major committee.

The speculation is fun, though, isn't it?

well thought of by everyone that when Trump tries to go after him/her it will backfire on Trump bigly.

ETA - The Democrats need to make Trump so toxic in the impeachment hearing that it would be lethal to any Rethug Senators that try to protect Trump.

WaPo columnist Jennifer Rubin: It was chaos then a real lawyer showed up

The real excitement came, however, after the media decided it was all chaos and Democrats had accomplished nothing. Democrats’ counsel Barry Berke got 30 minutes to question Lewandowski and made the most of it.

Sorry WaPo is a paywall. It's an excellent commentary. She lays out what Berke got on record with Lewandowski.

Throughout he has been no-nonsense and is a great questioner of witnesses. Nadler should get consideration also as he has been pushing for impeachment for awhile and I don't think a select committee would devolve into the kind of GOP clown show he's had to deal with on Judiciary.
