Does anyone recall that when the discussion of Trump's actual transferring money to the Ukraine was

first reported by MSNBC, there was a discrepancy about the amount that was supposed to be transferred and the amount Trump claimed was actually transferred. The discrepancy was that Trump had transferred over a hundred million dollars more than the Ukrainians were supposed to receive, as I recall. The MSNBC spokesperson (a man as I recall who was reporting at the time), caught the discrepancy right away, but I never heard anything more about it discussed again; although the amount that's repeatedly discussed as the transferred amount was the higher figure, somewhere in the neighborhood of $400M. This was also the very first time Trump was discussing Biden's son having worked for the Ukrainians and claiming that he was corrupt.

Does anyone recall this discrepancy? I have been caring for my grandchildren the past year while their parents work, and although I almost always have the TV on MSNBC much of the time, I haven't heard this issue discussed since then, or anyone else raising the discrepancy issue. Is there anyone else out there in DU land who recalls that initial reporting whereby Trump claimed to have transferred more money to the Ukrainians than they were supposed to have initially received? My immediate thought at the time was that if Trump transferred more money to the Ukrainians, than they were supposed to receive, than he took some for himself.

He's surrounded by people who are as crooked as he is including Pompeo and his Atty General, and they've all got to know what a crook Trump is; so my thought has been that he's got to be paying them off as well. After all, they can't be putting their reputations, and risking their golden years in prison just for a government salary. After all, these people have to be getting some kind of payoff to be risking their livelihoods and putting their reputations on the line for Trump, whom they all know is stealing everything he can, for as long as he can, and as fast as he can.

If anyone recalls seeing that episode on MSNBC the day Trump discussed transferring the money to the Ukrainians please let me know. I know I didn't imagine it.

It didn’t cause much of a stir at the time, but the Associated Press ran a report two weeks ago that may be relevant anew. It noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced at a conference that the United States had released $250 million in military aid – with an additional $140 million on top of that sum.

The Trump administration said Thursday [Sept. 12] that it has released $250 million in military aid to Ukraine that had been held up. It didn’t mention additional funds.

Zelenskiy’s deputy chief of staff Kirill Tymoshenko confirmed to The Associated Press after the president’s speech that Ukraine is indeed expecting an extra $140 million from the U.S., but he wouldn’t give detail on the source or designation of the funds.

There may very well be nothing to this, but it was a curious series of events. The Trump administration was supposed to give Ukraine $250 million, but that money was on hold when the American president spoke via phone to his Ukrainian counterpart – a conversation in which Trump reportedly pressed Zelenskiy eight times about investigating Biden.

Soon after learning that the military aid was on hold, the editorial board of the Washington Post published a piece alleging that the Republican was effectively trying to “extort” Ukraine, making the $250 million contingent on Kyiv agreeing to participate in Trump’s political scheme.

Additional funds come from? If Congress authorized the larger amount, did trump tell Ukraine they'd get some now and the rest upon finding Biden corruption. Interesting question you pose!
