Facebook Romney ads are "offensive"

Four times this morniong already, I've had to hide the Romney ad at the top of the Sponsored Column, each time selecting the "offensive" option as my reason. It seems Facebook has created an over-ride for Mr. Romney, so the ad keeps popping back up even though I dislike it. Normally, when one objects to an ad, then that content does NOT reappear. So, now I'm thinking Facebook is getting to be offensive, serving up this content.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Are you calling them offensive? I hope so, and I hope the stats get back to the advertiser!

Also with Paul Ryan VP.

I kept marking against my views and then I started with offensive. Still getting them.

And as I just looked at my Facebook account - Mitt Romney is on there again. I almost want to delete the friends who said they liked him!!!!

I post about 90% political stuff; cartoons, news items, etc...

I read your OP, then reloaded my FB page 6 times to see what popped up in the ads, which I never look at anyway.

Not one Romney ad. Kept getting Debbie Wasserman Schultz, barackobama.com, "oppose Paul Ryan," random food things, and "beautiful African women."

THEORY: If you steer clear of politics on FB, you will get ads aimed at people who don't 'do' politics: Romney's base.

Right now on DU I see an ad for Webster University. As I understand it, if I click on that ad, then Webster U will thereby send a small donation to DU. So if you click on the Romney ad, then Romney will send a small donation to Facebook.

7. Facebook ads are not necessarily pay-per-click. Offensive because it is Mitt Romney's image

they place on my FB page with my Friends (granted, they are Repuke relatives, not buddies) as his endorsees without Romney getting their permission to be pawns in his ad scheme. Facebook turns users into minions for ads. That is offensive in and of itself without having to see Romney's face or name.

If you do, you are most likely engaging in communication where you have a lot less control than you do on FB over who sees your stuff.
Any form of communication where you can reach a wide audience requires some effort on your part to limit who can do what with you. Ask your friends to review their privacy settings on FB, particularly:

Home->Account Settings->Facebook Ads

You can turn off FB's automatic "use me in stupid ads" setting.

And always keep in mind when using any convenient, popular form of communication:

I usually comment "other" then add "really Facebook? A romney ad?" or something about "don't waste your money." But then again.. it costs them if we click, right?

or whatever it is, and they popped right back. I notice if I choose "offensive" they disappear until the next day.

I already, on occasion, encounter sites that refuse to display any content if you are running AdBlock. I don't enter those sites.
