President Trump's national emergency declaration is an illegal attempt to violate the laws passed by Congress and override congressional funding restrictions in order to build his border wall. It's a dangerous expansion of presidential power and an assault on Congress' role as a co-equal branch of the government. Worse yet, he's reportedly considering to do it again. Our elected officials must fulfill their oaths to defend the Constitution and swiftly end this constitutional crisis.
