Its just like with the Mueller report. They are going to release edited documents, probably along with a Bill Barr statement on how they totally exonerate trump. They clearly have seen the whistleblower report, since they blocked it, so know how it can be altered to appear less serious.
They know that if they get out in front of the narrative, that the public will start to believe it just like they did with Mueller. They also know that the only way for the Democrats to counter their narrative is to allow the whistleblower to testify in public, which by definition would out that person, something they can then fault the Dems for doing.
Sure, the congress might eventually see the actual, entire report
but by then the public narrative will already be set in stone.
It worked for them before, so why not try again?

(1,997 posts)It's hard to change the narrative with written transcripts of testimony before a closed committee meeting.

(32,688 posts)6 committees are now working on trump's long list of impeachable offenses. The Ukraine thing is just icing on the cake. We still have the military stops at his resorts, and all the other emoluments violations. The cat's out the bag. Good riddance trump.

(2,199 posts)It's an easily understood single event, plus a whistleblower to testify.
I'm satisfied we have them on the defensive.
So answer me this - why is Mitch allowing a vote in the Senate tomorrow morning to rescind Trump's national
emergency declaration?

(15 posts)I want staff lawyers to be able to question the whistleblower.
Then, I want there to be corroboration of his/her complaint - like voice recordings.
I want the proof to be irrefutable - spin-proof.
