I heard that Dan Rather is referring to a "she" when talking about it.

(6,338 posts)Rationale:
1) Has to be someone who was in the inner circle
2) Has to be someone with credibility to get the IG so committed to it
3) Has to be someone who can move republican senators.
At this point, I'd say many in congress, including Pelosi/Schiff/Nadler, know who it is. They wouldn't be out in front of this so quickly for some analyst with a good story. And the Senate moved yesterday because Coat's is "one of them" and he's got impeccable red state credentials. No way he can be recast as a "deep state lib".
So $20 on Coats (in spite of Rather's slip)

(18,973 posts)I don't think Pelosi would have moved forward like she did yesterday without pocket aces. I hope she not only knows what who the whistle blower is and what they have to say, I hope she has several corroborating witnesses she knows of as well.
What makes me think she has the goods is that Truimp called her trying to work it out yesterday and offering gun control to do so.

(32,640 posts)We know that there are those who would try to discredit Dems by planting a false scandal - like the RW'er with the bogus accusation of Roy Moore who went to WAPO.
WAPO did their due diligence and avoided discrediting themselves and Moore's other accuser by going with the story right away.
Pelosi and Nadler did the same, I'm sure.

(3,490 posts)unless the person wants it released. Not a safe thing to do with the right wing hatred in this country, but someone who decides they are ready to retire might decide to let the public know.
