(7,512 posts)(Trump and his enablers) have no scruples and understand that the American public is easily swayed into almost anything. Unless there is an actual recording of the conversation I would think the whistle-blower complaint is what should be the focus of the investigation. I do not think many people will change their mind regardless.

(16,616 posts)so I'm not sweating yet. The next two days are important, though. He might think he can block the whistleblower's complaint from being made public. Could he have a plan? Yes.

(10,072 posts)I can't wait to see the supposed transcript. It will show us just how dumb Traitor Trump thinks we are.
I hope no one has forgotten the VP's involvement in blackmailing Ukraine.

(42,770 posts)And creating a "transcript"? It's not like there is really a serious transcriber who was present. Hey, remember that ? When the transcriber who had worked for Obama quit saying it was effed up now.

(26,178 posts)The whole process of creating transcription of these calls was explained on Morning Joe. They are not 'word for word' transcriptions. They are captures of the salient points of the conversations. And the trump* cartel handing over a transcript of a document that can easily have been altered makes it pretty much meaningless. IMHO, of course. I trust nothing from anyone connected to him.
The testimony, under oath, of the whistle blower is what's important.

(26,178 posts)And they will compare what the whistle blower says to what they have already reported, to look for discrepancies. When one is lying, it can be VERY difficult to remain credible and consistent.
Why would someone lie, putting their entire career on the line? I know you can get really conspiratorial and say maybe 'powers that be' are planning on giving someone a huge payoff to lie, and set up the Democrats, but lying under oath to a congressional committee would seem to be a risk that outweighs any hopeful monetary or philosophical/political benefits.

(26,178 posts)I'm hoping we will know, one way or the other, the actual credibility of this situation, by the end of the week. We may be in store for a pretty mind blowing Friday 'news dump'.
