General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region Forums5 reasons why not to trust the WH transcript:
1. The document notes that it is not a verbatim transcription.
2. Rudy Giuliani has accidently blabbed on Fox News that there is a phone-record of this conversation.
3. The "prosecutor" (Viktor Shokin) is brought up on page 3. Trump notes how unfairly he was treated. In reality, Shokin was ousted for being a universally reviled corrupt mess. Everybody in Ukraine hated him for letting rich criminals getting away with their crimes. Zelensky doesn't correct Trump.
4. The transcript has Zelensky refering to "the company" Trump mentioned, even though Trump hasn't mentioned a company during this conversation.
5. Trump again praising Viktor Shokin as a fair prosecutor, with no correction from Zelensky that Shokin was actually publicly known to be corrupt.

(16,423 posts)1. It's not a verbatim transcript. The document says so.
2. During a Fox News interview Rudy Giuliani was asked whether he had read the transcript. His response was that "it was read to him." Which is one more hint that something fishy is going on.
3. During that very same interview Rudy Giuliani said that there are phone-records of official calls.
4. During that very same interview Rudy Giulinai said that he couldn't remember who brought up Biden first in the conversation. Even though he had seen the transcript.
5. The WH has a well-documented history of doctoring the transcripts of press-conferences.
6. The "transcript" says that Barr and Giuliani would both be working on the Biden-case. That very same Barr who inserted himself into the whistleblower-procedure and is now illegally withholding the complaint from Congress.
This "transcript" was simply released as a pretext to burying the whistleblower-complaint. Nobody believed that the WH would release an unredacted transcript where Trump incriminates himself.
