Given the call summary produced by the WH & Bill Barrs personal involvement & clear personal interest in shutting this down, Bill Barr MUST recuse from any potential criminal investigation of the Ukraine events. Now. Immediately. @SenateDems @HouseDemocrats

(18,087 posts)Remember Trump's reaction to Sessions recusing himself? And I don't think that Barr has any judicial ethics at all.

(2,275 posts)is like the awkward kid in elementary school who was ignored by the cool kids. Suddenly he finds himself with a charismatic charlatan and he's so desperate for attention and social acceptance that he didn't realize the lightbulb he's fluttering around is greased with poison.

(3,951 posts)This make me wonder if a few Democrats actually were getting inside intel from staff, the intelligence agencies, etc. on the sly. I mean, Trump has broken so many norms, laws (and more) while at the same time intimidated long-time and experienced agency staff at all levels that he's created an army of those who would oppose him. It would be easy for say the CIA, NSA and even FBI to by-pass some protocols if need be to send intel to the House and even Senate Intel committee heads in secret.
As a side bar, Trump did throw both Ghouliani and Barr into the mix during that now infamous (oh, it will become infamous, just like Rose Mary Wood's missing tape recording) phone call. While we all know Rudybaby was up to his neck here, the real news is Barr was also ordered by Trump to join in. Now that the cat's out of the bag, will be recuse himself or not?
I'll bet he won't since if he does Trump will gut him like a dead fish (think: Jeff Sessions). Yet, if he doesn't, he can easily be charged with a crime he can go to jail for. I'm hoping he stick with Trump and goes down with the ship! Oddly, this would prove that Sessions was smarter than Barr!

(2,585 posts)Barr needs to be impeached. Full stop. To recuse from the Ukraine crap? Does anyone actually buy that Barr wouldn't be so far into the weeds of that the Dems would need an old world explorer to chart a course. Barr would be quietly strong-arming and blockaiding the release of any and all information related to the investigation just as he is now.
Now, if Mimi meant he MUST recuse from investigating this matter since he was named as having participated or would do so in future, then legally and ethically he must recuse. But the big question is would he? No. He'll say so, but he will be right in the middle of it. Therefore, he must be impeached and removed from the position.

(11,433 posts)Hes been up to his eyeballs in corruption since recommending presidential pardons for the Iran Contra criminals. Probably even before then. Only impeachment will get his attention.
