(2,199 posts)Pelosi, who earned her position as speaker by demonstrating her ability to corral votes, found herself this time following her caucus. As of this writing, nearly two-thirds of House Democrats back an impeachment effort. Including Rep. Justin Amash (I-Mich.), who endorsed the idea in May before leaving the Republican Party, the total number of House members supporting an impeachment probe is 165.

(7,835 posts)...i.e., whether Amash was being included in that 213 number. It appears as though he was not, given that the graphic was titled "HOUSE DEMOCRATS SUPPORTING IMPEACHMENT ACTION" and Amash is not a House Democrat.

(7,835 posts)Right now, it says "HOUSE DEMOCRATS SUPPORTING IMPEACHMENT ACTION," so, I assume it does not include Amash, which is probably a good idea -- would you want a vote on impeachment coming down to a former Republican? haha

(18,973 posts)There's an investigation and an inquiry, don't Congress members have to be presented with the evidence first before passing judgement about impeachment? I'd expect this investigation to take a long time.
