she was going to be Speaker again, rather than one of the new, young, progressive reps.

I hope everyone takes a lesson from this about age and experience!

I caught the tail end of his rantings with the Ukraine President.

Hubby and I looked at each other when he mentioned gun control and how the Democrats weren't really interested in it.

I imagined the convo went something like this...

trump: Hey Nancy. You know that gun control thingy you want? You can have all of it if you lay off that impeachyment. Hell, I'll even give you the transcripts of the phone call.

Madame Speaker: I'll give you my answer at 5:00 tonight. Go have some delicious chocolate cake with 2 scoops of ice cream. Then take a nap, you'll feel better.

trump then made the announcement he would release the transcripts, backing himself into a corner. Pelosi gave her answer at 5:00 to open formal impeachment hearings.

She played him like a fiddle.

You can count me among those who wanted action a year or two ago. She just delivered a low slider with heat and got Trump to hit one into a triple play counting Barr and the Ghoul.

She also said she'd rather put him in jail than impeach him, which I would bet the SDNY is looking to do. Who knows how this whole thing will work out but I agree that she was giving him enough rope for him to make himself a big beautiful noose.

exactly what she meant. It's all coming into focus now and underscores the virtue of patience. Also, a keen recognition of who and what Donald Trump is, always has been. He can't help himself because that's the way he's wired, a twisted SOB.

Kudos to our Madame Speaker. She's been miles and miles ahead of everyone.

if she brings down Trump, she gets her own damn chapter in the history books.
and if she somehow brings down Pence too, thus assuming the presidency herself, we're talking some Julius Caesar level shit.

Spkr Pelosi's absolutely schooling the naughty little children this week.

I think Nancy is perfectly happy where she is, but she was so disappointed (like we all were) when Hillary didn't get the win. If Hillary were in the White House now, along with Tim Kaine, they would have been the Dream Team.

Maybe she expected him to eventually self-immolate, but I doubt that she actually knew what he would do that would (finally) really get him into trouble. If this hadn't come out, it's possible that we would be at the same place where we were before- just plodding along, confused about whether we were doing an official impeachment inquiry or not.

She has always realize the only thing that matters is 2020. She knows Trump will never be convicted. There is no way 67 senators are voting to kick him out of office. But she also knew that impeaching before there was an easy to understand charge that even Americans who don’t pay attention could understand was political suicide.

So she waited patiently, taking all kinds of shit from her side for not rushing impeachment. Just waiting for the one time the Trump would do something that everyone can understand is despicable. And she got it.

So now she pounced quickly, and understands that we have to keep the impeachment about the one thing that is so easily understandable. It won’t drive him out of office. But it will win of the election in 2020.

I’m sure that within 5 months from now many DU there will be many bitching that he still in office. But that is inevitable. The only thing that matters is winning in 2020

Agreement with the US.

Right now he still thinks he can become dictator. But if things keep going against him he will give up on that pipedream and have to devise another plan.

1. He resigns and hopes Pence pardons him. Which he won’t.

2. Gotterdammerung. He unleashes the gates of hell.

But I do not think a 2020 victory is assured. Americans are very nationalistic.

Combined with the evangelicals and racist it is a potent adversary.
