Jennifer Rubin goes there - regarding Pence

She just published another opinion piece online, "Barr, Mulvaney, other officials better lawyer up" where she says this:

"Barr is not the only member of the administration who is in legal and career peril. Most importantly, it is essential to determine what Vice President Pence knew of Trump’s efforts, whether he advised against this kind of conduct and whether he was involved in the pressure campaign to find dirt on Biden. When we move into the realm of impeachment, it is obviously necessary to determine if the vice president, in case of removal or resignation, is fit to take over. Congress should move swiftly to subpoena him and obtain all documents relating to this travesty."

set up by $$$$ puke donors specifically to defend WH personnel charged with crimes. It's gotten quite the workout.

And peanuts compared to return for the money hoarding class considering their successful looting of the Treasury via red don's tax scam.

If Trump sees he is going down and going down hard, he's just the kind of individual who would want to drag down others in his admin as well. Blame them for his screw ups.

"It's all their fault, they made me do it".

If I go down, I'm not going down alone. Hell, he might even provide testimony at their trials.

I don't know why I hadn't thought of that yet, guess I didn't actually believe impeachment, even an inquiry would ever occur.

I really think Trump will use whatever chance he can to throw Pence under the bus. If Trump goes down, I think he will want to take Pence down with him. If Trump can't be president, no one can be president.
Of course that's stupid, but it's Trump.

On the doubtful side, they do tend to ignore subpoenas. Pence testifying? Good luck with that.

He's a key participant.....some Pence quotes from here (much more at the link):

https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/pence-gave-ukraine-the-message-too

"Well, on the first question, the answer is no. But we — with President Zelensky yesterday, we discussed — we discussed America’s support for Ukraine and the upcoming decision the President will make on the latest tranche of financial support in great detail."

"But as President Trump had me make clear, we have great concerns about issues of corruption."

"But I called on him to work with us to engage our European partners to participate at a greater level in Ukraine, and also told him that I would carry back to President Trump the progress that he and his administration in Ukraine are making on dealing with corruption in their country."

HE'S GOING DOWN TOO!

Barr and Ghouliani are explicitly implicated in Trump's own notes of the call. And if you think somebody other than Trump wrote those notes, read them. They are very obviously written in Trumpish, even what the notes claim are Zelensky's words.
