He's quoting from the Whistleblower's report which you can read on another DU post. Chump's lawyers hid the transcripts of these Ukraine calls (and possibly other similar calls) on a secret file server that's reserved for top secret communications having to do with national security. But of course, this phone call had nothing to do with national security, it was politically motivated and clear proof of his abuse of power. Chump's lawyers didn't want any of this to get out to the public. Hence, the Whistleblower's report.

(36,023 posts)MF45 has used his global reach to do far more than fix his own elections.
He used his position to sell nuclear weapons to traditional hostile enemies, met with them, communicated with them, done business with them.
He stands before a global body and promotes his election while denigrating a political opponent.
Imo, that's globalist behavior.
bucolic_frolic

(36,023 posts)home country is treason.
Added up, his actions are treason -- president's profits and advancement over country's national security.
I don't know why the overall patterns of his collusion don't reach the level of treason.
bucolic_frolic
(43,128 posts)If Trump solicited actual cash from a major power, that would be perceived as treason. If he aided a foreign power in a military attack against our major allies, that would be treason. We are struggling with the definitions and boundaries of collusion and treason and conspiracy. But these issues have not been breached in a major way with political figures before, for the most part. The Rosenberg's, whatever one thinks of their innocence or guilt, were not political office holders. Nor were our spy cases in the Cold War. Perhaps the period of the post-WWI Red Scare has a few examples, but things were cut and dry then, no nuanced laws were needed. Our laws don't deal with political foreign agents-in-place. We have to tease it out politically, with months of screaming and finger-pointing, and let the courts/Congress sort it out. Which we're about to be treated with.
ancianita
(36,023 posts)The public's mind needs improvement about what constitutes treason.
Howard Dean has public said, and other politicians in charge of intelligence and oversight functions believe, that politics is war.
Collusion with historically hostile foreign powers who would do America harm, approaches the treason zone, imo.
I expect that every action by this president to enrich himself, aid and abet America's enemies, whether publicly or privately, at the expense of America's national security, will prove treason, even if the word isn't used.
Whatever the historical record shows, the word treason, today, seems too scary to be said, even when collective evidence proves its actual existence.
lunatica
(53,410 posts)to Russian Ambassador Lavrov and Russian Foreign Minister Kislyak in the Oval Office the day after he fired Comey may not be a perfect fit with the traditional understanding of treason, but thats only because no one ever imagined such a scenario taking place.
In my understanding how can it be dismissed in light of his current treasonous demands Trump made to the Ukrainian President?

Hospital records databases.
I have NOTHING to suggest this is is the WHY. But if it's true, each email address is a HIPAA violation.
Go look up the penalties for that, and tell me Betsy's kids wont be broke when she dies in prison.

The problem is that tRump is storing his illegal political acts on it.

I wonder how many stars have been put on the CIA's wall due to tRump's vile crimes and incompetence.

(16,887 posts)Think about it....what it he had multiple people (US Officials) who became aware of Election Meddling come to HIM as he has stated in testimony before Congress that people should immediately do (go to the FBI).
What if HE was the one some White House and Administration officials came to or that he was aware through conversations with them as the complaint states and as the Director of the FBI he was between a rock and a hard place of what to do and so he used the Whistleblower Intelligence Channel?
Note: If it is Christopher Wray - that would be huge and what then from all the Trump defending GOP mouthpieces?

(34,062 posts)It is not a secret server. It is the normal server that hosts highly classified information.
The information they were putting on the server didn't belong there (it's not highly classified), and they were putting it there in an attempt to conceal it.
But the server is not secret.
Rabrrrrrr
(58,347 posts)Still highly suspicious and probably another impeachable offense for the White House to put the phone call there, but it's a known server. Let's not go for FOX News levels of hype, folks - stick to the facts.
