The President is not officially a member of the intelligence community. I call bullshit, the President has a lot of authority over the intelligence community. Whether he is an official member is irrelevant. I hope The Democrats attack that defense and destroy it.

(14,966 posts)by pointing out that classification authority lies with the executive branch, and specifically ultimately in the person of the POTUS. You cannot claim that some capacity/trait originates in one person, flows out of them and through/into layers and layers of subordinates... and then also claim that that one individual is separate from the whole.

(10,252 posts)Seems that the GOPer congressman are all saying that it's all false. The complaint doesn't say anything that the Dems and the media say it says. Deny deny deny.
I have to either turn the sound off or walk out of the room, when GOPers get their turn at questioning. Well so much for not bearing false witness.

(4,379 posts)He went after the acting DNI about the President not being a member of intelligence community. Castro said he believes the President is a member and that's true. It's a bullshit technicality.

It was as simple as getting the admission from Maguire that the President has the authority to read and classify or declassify any and every type or level of information, which puts him at the top of the "intelligence community".
