A Note About Classified Information

The reason for classification of documents and information is to keep them out of the hands of our enemies. Unfortunately, those safeguards also let people in high positions hide information from review by those in charge of oversight and law enforcement.

When a President orders materials to be classified that might have a negative impact on the President, the valid reasons for classification of information are subverted. Only if watchful people are aware of this and make that information available for inspection is there any hope of avoiding deception on the part of a dishonorable President.

That is the situation we now find ourselves in. It may be that we are at the beginning of uncovering much more that we suspect.
