How often do we hear about some local county commissioner or town councilperson who goes to jail....

....because some project goes up before approval on the board and it turns out after the fact that the official had a bunch of ties to the project but refused to disclose them or recuse from the final vote on the project and thus had a gross conflict of interest?

I'm sure it has happened on various occasions wherever you might happen to live.

Thing is, if the IG and DNI receives a whistleblower complaint and the President and Attorney General are deeply implicated in the complaint, and they refuse to recuse themselves and still receive it and choose to bury it instead of releasing it to Congress as is required.....how is that refusal not to recuse any less illegal?

All politics is local.
