Nancy Pelosi's quarter century of experience on intel may well have saved the USA

I remember how strongly they were screaming not to make her our leader...."we need younger, fresher blood" they said. I am so glad they were over ruled. At times like these, I think back on times like that, and wonder if they were active measures.

Our nation is under attack, any way you slice it. We will get through it...together. Because we are stronger...together.

I have a debt of gratitude to Speaker Pelosi, and the six other chairs who weren't snookered into sucker bets, and used their experience to lead us. They lined up the ducks....got them in a row....and...there's hope.

And if people here and on other social media sites hadn't been pushing every day...to do what is right, who knows where we'd be now?

Many suspected that leadership (and uncommitted House members) were waiting for trump to do something else wrong - even worse than all the other things he had done wrong. Which of course he did. Let's just hope it all proceeds as swiftly as possible.

It was immensely frustrating just waiting and wondering why?? Her approval of Impeachment was what everyone was waiting on.

I think the most honest way to look at it is that she and a House contingency we're waiting for something super bad. Bad enough to move. The rest, of Dems, to a varying degree...66-80 something percent thought he had done enough already.

But totally understand that you can not actually say that. "I am waiting for trump to do something so horrible I can't ignore." You can't come right out and say, wait, he will do worse.

Thankfully it all worked out and everyone on same team now.

to be held accountable. Like the 6 Dems who introduced Articles in 2017 ( led by Steve Cohen D-TN). And everyday you realize it won't really happen unless one person (along with staunch followers) gets on board. And months go on and on. Crimes mount up. And it's still doesn't happen. And only guesses as to why. What, honestly, do you expect than for people to target her? Not discounting her service, but trying to get something moving.

Not really sure why this has not been more about trump than Pelosi. But do understand your feelings.

I'll never forgive those who were demeaning and insulting her with claims that SHE was the scandal… things like that only caused division and tension and distrust and resentment. Rather than working with her and TRUSTING her, there was a certain element who chose to try and publicly embarrass her (presumably because she wasn't proceeding "fast enough" for their liking.)

All I'm trying to say is that *I* trusted Nancy Pelosi... she's go the wisdom and experience, she knows the law, and she knows how things work. We are very fortunate to have her.

And Nancy and the moderate members of her caucus knew it. He deserved it, but the ‘story’ was complicated and messy.

But this is straight forward abuse of power and more importantly Bribery which is actually mentioned in the constitution. This is a text book reason for impeachment. Nancy figured that out in 48 hours. Did a 180 and pounced.

As what he did sinks in with Americans it is going to get worse for him.

But had this or something like it not occurred Nancy would have taken the heat and not impeached. At all.

impeachment inquiry in response to the whistle-blower complaint. She definitely deserves credit and our appreciation for that. She did the right thing when she felt the time was right. It was also a time when it was abundantly obvious that it was the right thing. She knew that and responded as a good leader should.

My hat is off to Speaker Pelosi for exerting real leadership in a time of real crisis. I am ecstatic that she did.

And I disagree strongly with those here who feel some others -- also here -- owe her or anyone else an apology for not announcing an impeachment inquiry sooner. We are all fortunate that a true patriot finally came forward in the form of a whistle-blower. My gratitude goes to that person first.

We still have a rogue president trading away state secrets, a Republican Senate majority in collusion with Trump, an FEC tied in knots, insecure election structure (some of the voting machines in Wisconsin are still running Windows 7), and a public to sway further towards supporting impeachment.

Settling old scores can be fun, but how about winning the game first?

So many lies and divisive smears and attacks were being encouraged. It was truly shameful.
