Folks, The President is "en fuego"!
Mittens and the GOP are dealing with a well oiled campaign machine and a great campaigner. The President is really enjoying himself. I can't wait for our convention because, I truly believe it will cement our lead and the President will cruise home to victory!
UPDATE: I embedded the video that has the money quote.

President Barack Obama, in Iowa to kick off a campaign swing, mockingly charged Saturday that the just-concluded Republican convention had showcased policies "better suited for the last century."
"You might as well have watched it on a black and white TV," Obama told a cheering crowd of thousands in Urbandale, outside Des Moines.
"It was something to behold. Despite all the challenges that we face in this new century what they offered over those three days was, more often than not, an agenda that was better suited for the last century," he said. "It was a re-run. We'd seen it before."
"If you didn't DVR it, let me recap it for you: Everything's bad, it's Obama's fault, and Governor Romney is the only one who knows the secret to creating jobs and growing the economy," he said. "That was the pitch."
"And when Governor Romney had his chance to let you in on his secret, he did not offer a single new idea. Just retreads of the same old policies that have been sticking it to the middle class for years," Obama charged.

(39,374 posts)I don't have to worry with this guy. He's together in his personal and emotional life and he doesn't screw up in public. Ever. And, as for the political talent, it's-once-in-a-lifetime stuff. We're lucky to have him, especially given the abyss that GOP would drag us into.
Now let's hold up our end of the bargain and kick some ground-game ass, folks.

(336 posts)If it had been black and white TV, it would have depicted the rather more sensible policies of Eisenhower and Kennedy.

(17,505 posts)I know it was most likely unintentional, but "black and white" can refer to more than the TV signal.

(582 posts)Actually, I thought Obama was being kind. I really believe that the Republicans are aiming for 1900. You know, no food regulations, no job safety, no unions, no Fed, no public radio, no social security (private funded only), no medical (private funded only), no minorities (except in slums and servant's quarters), no EPA, and only one democratic president since the civil war. The party of no indeed, NO 20th CENTURY.

(116 posts)30 years of supply side economics has just about destroyed us. Greed is not good. We just have seen what letting Wall St. right it's own rules does for the rest of the 99%. Let us have enough since to not go back there.
