If Trump is removed, Pence will become president. Whoo boy!

Pence is tainted but while Trump is being impeached, no one will focus on removing Pence
Once Trump is removed, Pence automatically becomes president. That's why he's there.

Being complicit in Trump's crimes may create a cloud around him but the Republicans will deny it and there's no way another president could be impeached, particularly in the time left before the election.

What will really be infuriating is if Pence pardons Trump for all his crimes.
This is likely because Pence will want to stay on the good side of the Trump toady voters.
Trump would remain free, continue to grab national attention in the press and continue to influence Republican politics.
He'd probably continue his manic rallies and tweet crap that gets in the news every day.

Trump can't escape the NY state lawsuits but he's been dodging lawsuits all his life.
He's expert at staying out of prison so don't expect any big comeuppance from this.
We may never learn why he's so terrified of revealing his taxes.

It will be worth it to rid ourselves of president Trump but it will be frustrating.
Pence will be another whole ball of horrors if he decides to flex his presidential muscles and he may do so in order to grab the Republican candidacy next year.

Gilead! Here we come!

President Pence would still have made all their wildest dreams come true.

But they've been holding on to the big orange assclown, because they're afraid of alienating his "base". Well, that "base" is becoming an ever-increasing liability for them, and their numbers are shrinking. Trump isn't picking up any new supporters, and he won't for the foreseeable future. He's way past his expiration date, for anyone.

Except for one thing - he won't be holding those rallies because the US taxpayers won't be there to foot the bill as we are now.

Pence will be dangerous, but badly tainted for the 2020 election, if he chooses to run. My guess is that rMoney will step in, or Kasich as the Republican saviors.

And you are right - Pence will pardon him from all his Federal crimes. But I don't think he will be able to skate away from the State crimes so easily. He will need to pay all those legal bills himself and he won't have the $$$ pouring into his crappy properties because there is no benefit to the Saudis (for example) to stay there if he's not in the WH any more.

We don't know where this will all lead.

"There is a Balm in Gilead" - an anthem we are going to sing in our church choir soon.

The hard core Trump base will never go for Kasich. He is assailed as being way too liberal for their tastes by the morons who post comments in Ohio newspapers. Plus the way he gave Dumpy the cold shoulder during the GOP convention in Cleveland. They hated that.

Because Kasich paints himself as a "moderate" and yet his POLICIES are just about as right wing as they get. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

But you are correct that he has been a staunch "Never Trumper" from the beginning.

The MAGAts aren't Pence fans for the most part.

If he decided to run for election in 2020, he would lose very very badly.

In today's television and sound-bite obsessed world, Pence is the epitome of the worst thing imaginable - he's boring. The Republican base eats up Trump's outrageous, boorish behavior. Pence would put them to sleep.

The Evangelicals will shelve their "morals" to vote for a philandering, venal con man as long as they get to hold on to power.

But the rednecks won't turn out for a goody-two-shoes.

A mere year before elections? Do you think he'll get The backing of Republicans who will be primaries in that last year? Do you think the House will pass anything of his?

Snap out if it!

Pence is a weak, pathetic man with no charisma. He would be viewed as tainted goods the moment he steps into the Oval Office due to his association with Trump, especially after this most recent episode.

If that's what the Republicans want to do for 2020, by all means, please proceed, Governor.

Every day we're getting little bits of pieces of Pence's involvement in this scandal. But that's just based on what little we know of the ONE instance. There's a server with his voice transcripts on it.

Their base will go nuts. They already view this as a "deep state coup." And honestly, I hope they don't remove him. I want him impeached and then to lose the election in a humiliating landslide. Nothing is worse than being a "loser" to him.
