"Some people close to Trump believe he is in denial about the gravity of the situation he's facing"

Kaitlan Collins
@kaitlancollins

We reported yesterday that some people close to Trump believe he is in denial about the gravity of the situation he’s facing, not believing he’ll really be impeached. Only hearing more echo that today.

PLEASE start jump scaring him constantly...
Jump around corners...
Hide in the curtains and then scream...
Sneak up on him and make ghost noises....

ANYTHING that *MIGHT* make him have a heart attack and die or at least stroke out and incapacitate him.

and he is trying to figure out how he might escape justice with some kind of a deal where by he gets to keep his accumulated wealth as well as a get out of jail free card(amnesty). He in his very confused mind,knows the real story. His past is his path forward. He will leave if he does not have to face any legal Jeopardy.

and maybe the house, I don't remember; but why would the Republicans put him on show for that when he could be touring the border, meeting with NATO, attending rallies of near-hysterically supportive Republicans, or whatever?

Certainly we know they won't be allowing him to take the stand!

through the impeachment investigation and trial with no more than wild swings between terror and arrogance, then upon Repubs finding inadequate reason to remove him from office, go on a round of self-congratulatory rallies, where crowds will happily scream to hang the Nazi spy Democrats.

Worst case, yes, and maybe a few underlings will take a fall -- or not, but it's hardly impossible. And regardless of who wins this round in the enormous battle for power, the elections, which both sides MUST win, will be looming.

And Trump knows that the end of the road will not be a rocky one for him.

He also knows that the 2016 election was thrown and 2020's will be as well, so he's not in any peril of his acts working against him in a national election.

Yes, I'm cynical, but after waiting 2 years for the Mueller Report only to find out it failed to launch, I'm not holding my breath.

so Flake's '35 senators' could go ahead and vote their conscience in an attempt to save what is left of the GOP.
