We dare not contemplate what the Washington Republicans would say if Donald Trump were to actually shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue ...

... Republicans still don’t think their leader has done anything wrong ...

... Mona Charen, a senior fellow at the conservative Ethics and Public Policy Center, warned that “Republicans who continue to cover for Trump ... have abetted the delegitimization of the entire American system.”

That’s not stopping most of them from swilling the Kool-Aid ...

... Perhaps they should heed the advice of the Republican senator who declared, back in December 2015, “You know how you make America great again? Tell Donald Trump to go to hell.” So said Lindsey Graham ...

For gods sake..... WTF is in it to get these people to not just follow, but to believe his noises?

Normal Federal government game is Favors and Dirt. He cant have promised this many favors without one of em jumping ship and ratting on him. And he hasnt been in Washington long enough to get this much dirt on em. WTF is in this Kool Aid?

leverage when needed. Notice that no info has yet been leaked from the RNC hack that occurred when the DNC hack did.

Also remember Graham's abrupt 180 after a single game of golf with Trump.

3. And I predict that we will continue to see the Republicans do so.

If they admit Trump's wrongdoing now they may think it will weaken them enough that they will be swept in 2020. And, they may be right about that. So, they may think that ginning up a new false narrative for their cult that keeps bringing them out to vote is their best chance to hold on. What's easier than claiming "he did nothing wrong" and then spinning out stories that a "Deep State conspiracy" by "socialists trying to take away freedom" is behind the entire Ukraine situation. I mean, they lie all the time, and everyone has seen what they are doing up to now, so its not a stretch to think they are considering that direction. We're already hearing that from some of them. Watch for the Senate to start taking investigations in the opposite direction of the House.
