ICE agents and workers feel threatened in Seattle area

Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE, is sounding the alarm saying the mood in the country makes it unsafe for agents and workers. It is the second time in two weeks the agency made a public appeal.

ICE said the private workers at the Tacoma Immigration Processing Center are being threatened and the ICE agents who go out and make arrests are getting harassed. “Those incidents when there are bystanders who are disrupting the encounter we are attempting to conduct with the target,” said Nathalie Asher, ICE regional director.

They contend protesters don’t understand that they are just doing their job and upholding federal immigration law.

KOMO specifically asked for details of instances of violence toward officers. Asher said, “We may have one or two that I will have to look for. Certainly, nationally we’ve had assaults on our officers.”

A pro-ICE rally is set for Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Tacoma Immigration Processing Center.

There better NOT be people in my community shameful enough to rally for holding babies in cages. Big old ICE bullies deserve to be scared.

The tribe owns the land outside the ICE facility. Their elders blessed the people who protested ICE daily last year. So disrespectful.

That's my thinking. I have a list of things I would not do for money no matter how hungry I was. This is one of those jobs.

There's your problem right there, Nathalie Asher. You're not encountering a "target"; that's a person. A person with friends and relatives. A person with rights. But you just see a target, don't you? And you're so empty inside that you don't understand why other persons take issue with you and your heinous tactics.

I get that if you need your job to put food on the table and pay the bills, you have an incentive to overlook the misery you are causing. But even if they can live with themselves by doing THAT job, they have to expect that decent people will react negatively when they do it in a manner that causes many people untold misery.

Does someone have to put THEIR children in a cage before it dawns upon them why people are reacting this way?

A friend of my wife's parents was a ten year old Hitler Youth when the war ended. He told us that the degree of indoctrination and brainwashing was so staggering as to be practically unimaginable to anyone who had not gone through it. Half a century later, he still remembered how they had made him and his friends into virtual robots of thought.

Some of these people are surely sadists who are in just the right job to act out their desires to make other people miserable. But others have just as surely been brainwashed into thinking they are performing a necessary service to keep "undesirable illegals" out of the country, and are completely blinded to reality when told to go arrest and detain some family's father or mother, who has been here (or even born here!--they make this mistake all the time) for decades, has a job, pays taxes, and is a productive member of society. I'll bet not a tear was shed anywhere at ICE for that Iraqi-born guy who spoke no Arabic, was a diabetic, had no work skills, and was sent to Iraq knowing no one or the language, and died of his illness because he couldn't get the insulin he needed and couldn't even communicate to anyone there that he needed it.
