It begins with the last two viceroys, then how Jennah, Ghandhi, and Nehru executed the partitioning. I think the lesson from it is that it never should have been done.

(24,560 posts)OTOH...I don't know how it would affect today. Jenneh had more support of the British (mainly because the Muslims had been more supportive of the British) Jenneh wanted an Islamic nation, hence the partition based on religion. Then during partition it happened very quickly. Overnight, Hindus and Sikhs left Pakistan and Muslims left India. "P" for Punjab
"A" for Afghania (now known as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)

(24,560 posts)I think when India was partitioned not much thought was given to Kashmir because it was so remote. As the years passed and technology improved the area became an area of conflict.
Movies used to be filmed up there, but by the 80s they started doing winter scenes in Switzerland.
To give you an idea of the climate here is a song from 1961. The actor Shammi Kapoor is a Hindu whose parent's came from Pakistan. He just has the misfortune of looking like Ted Cruz..LOL
Enjoy!
