The division is toxic for America.

There comes a time when we must look at matters from a different perspective.

We must set aside partisan labels, Democrats or Republicans, and look at matters as Americans.

Those that seek to divide us are not well-intentioned.

Our democracy is under threat, from both foreign and domestic sources.

As Americans, we must understand that this is beyond Democrat or Republican.

This is about the security of our nation.

It is as simple as that.

The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

But this may be how a Republic destroys itself from the inside. Let's see how resilient our system is, though.

After all, Trump & Co. are small and we are legion in effect.

I would also add that there is another essential aspect of our system that is at stake, and that is the office of the President itself. It has, IMO, been denigrated, despoiled and compromised. That is also not acceptable, nor should it be. If we value the meaning of our institutions and their sanctity, then Trump, above and beyond the details, has hit this country very hard and challenged our system in a most insulting and destructive manner.

That is what has to stop and I think it is a primary point or core from which the rest, (crimes) follows.

Talk radio....Fox News Breitbart Drudge OAN Newsmax etc.

They are buried in it all day. The narrative about Hunter alone requires time travel and Wormholes.
The other name I use is "Gullible's Travels" - which is also a song by Soul Asylum from their "And the Horse They Rode In" album. Highly recommended.

We should have never let the South rejoin the Union after the Civil War. That seems to be the point when America forever became a divided country.

...there are times when we have been more divided than others.

For example, The Great Civil War.

It feels like we are now in the midst of a different kind of division ?

But it is deceptive and under the current. There is a conspiratorial feel about it.

It is a threat.

The "division" is amplified due to the invention and use of technology after the Civil War. Back then, they had newspapers, telegraphs, correspondence (letter-writing/postal), and "in person" interactions with limited numbers of people, to obtain the latest news. Today we have the same PLUS telephones (wired, wireless, cell), radio, movies, television (OTA/cable/satellite), and the internet.

The irony here being although the tech has actually expanded the access of once-insular communities, to "the outside", it has also inadvertently served to have those insular communities seek out and discover others like themselves, which lead to a growth in their numbers - basically magnifying the "differences" by increasing the number of members within groups having similar sentiments (but often geographically remote from each other).

It was a division that should never have been permitted to mature.

The ignorance of the times, and the hatred in mens souls, brought nothing but death and destruction.

It was a long and painful lesson.

People have to be free.

But...

Democrats and rational people may hate republicans and fascists. We certainly despise then for their rank stupidity and vileness.

The right hates us and wants to see us wiped off the face of the earth.

I’m not sure that’s a divide that can be resolved.
