Those still supporting Trump are the American equivalent of the Iraqis Donald Rumsfeld termed
"dead enders". On some level, they are aware that the road they've been on these past three years ends at the cliff's edge which is now visible, even to them. But, stopping their headlong stampede or turning away from the herd would require that they admit that they were not just wrong, but that they were foolishly, profoundly, transparently and embarrassingly wrong and that their terrible judgment helped do damage to our nation that will not be repaired in our lifetimes.
And, so, they continue wearing their MAGA caps and doing their best to menace all who do not worship at the Trump altar. As their road ends and they hurtle into the abyss, some will curse, some will cry and some will stare silently into the distance as they plummet. But, all will blame, not "Mr. Trump", but the "libtard Democrats" whose socialist diversity destroyed their "great" America.
