AG Barr is angry at Trump after the president treated him like his personal lawyer and roped him into the Ukraine scandal.
The AP reported:
Trump repeatedly told Ukraines president in a telephone call that Barr and Trump personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani could help investigate Trumps Democratic rival Joe Biden, according to a rough transcript of that summertime conversation. Justice Department officials insist Barr was unaware of Trumps comments at the time of the July 25 call.
When Barr did learn of that call a few weeks later, he was surprised and angry to discover he had been lumped in with Giuliani, a person familiar with Barrs thinking told The Associated Press. This person was not authorized to speak about the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.
Donald Trump has always wanted to make the Department of Justice his personal legal team. William Barr should not be angry or surprised that he was treated as such in the Ukraine scandal. Barr sold his soul to Donald Trump.
As the impeachment pressure is growing the White House has turned into a circular firing squad with Giuliani bringing down Secretary of State Pompeo, and Barr angry at Trump.
The Trump White House is sinking and the rats are blaming each other as Trumps presidency is going under.

(14,886 posts)helped Trump cover up his prior criminal acts. What else is Trump supposed to believe but that Barr is game for more criminality? He's got no one to blame but himself. Seriously, not even Trump, just himself.

(82,849 posts)William Barr knew what he was signing on for when he agreed to be named Attorney General. Jeff Sessions didn't quite grasp that he was supposed to be Donald Trump's personal lawyer as Attorney General, and followed DOJ guidelines by recusing himself from the Russia investigation. Trump never got over that, wanted Sessions to "unrecuse" himself (which isn't really a thing any more than "presidential harassment" is a thing), and get cracking as Trump's personal lawyer and use the FBI as Trump's personal private investigators.
If Barr is only now starting to figure all this out, he'd have to have "left" and "right" stamped on his shoes. And I don't think Barr is that stupid. He's floating this "I'm angry" trial balloon to see who buys it.

(28,979 posts)One evening in October
When I was about one-third sober
And was taking home a load with manly pride
My poor feet began to stutter
So I lay down in the gutter
And a pig came up and lay down by my side
Then we sang "It's All Fair Weather"
And "Good Fellows Get Together"
Till a lady passing by was heard to say
She says, "You can tell a man who boozes
By the company he chooses"
And the pig got up and slowly walked away
Yes, the pig got up and slowly walked away
Slowly walked away, slowly walked away
Yes, the pig got up and he turned and winked at me
As he slowly walked away

(4,341 posts)The question to be asked is...Knowing that everyone and everything that gets close to the creature turns to shit, that people turn to shit they are rolled under the bus, although to be clear anyone who decides to cozy up to the creature are already shit, but nonetheless, knowing that, what makes them think they will never have a turn? That they are so special the creature will, for the first time in his life, show loyalty to them.
I mean, Barr went to law school, became a judge, an AG, so he is no dummy, that he is a crook we all agree, but the guy is supposed to have a brain...what made him think that he was something special that he would not be "taking care of" by the creature on some way or another?
Anyway, I don't believe he was caught by surprise, he is in it too, but if he did and now he is angry? GOOD!, I hope he is drinking Maalox.

(19,148 posts)Not even a Supreme Court Judge. Exhibit: Clarence Thomas. All you need to be is semi-literate and kiss the ass of every superior you work for. A trial thrown here, a judgement thrown out there, and the next thing you know you're wearing a black robe and asking Antonin Scalia, "what should I think? What would make you happy"?

(6,144 posts)He's just pretending to be angry at Trump, to give himself a little credibility while he decides how to spin it.
He went all in with the preliminary Mueller Report and hasn't backed off even the slightest bit through all the crap he has had to wade through every day as "Trump's Roy Cohn".
Barr knows Trump well, and is prepared to go down with his ship. I don't expect him to give Trump up no matter what.
He has already said that he doesn't care how history views him.

(19,148 posts)After Barr lied to everyone about the Mueller investigation we're supposed to believe he's totally independent from Trump, and not his errand boy? Barr hasn't told the truth about anything so far, so why would we believe him now? And I suppose that $35,000 party at Trump's hotel wasn't another attempt to crawl further up his ass, right?
Up yours, Barr. You're going down with Trump and all of your GOP co-conspirators. Playing Mr. Law and Order now isn't going to cut it. You chose to lay down with that rabid dog Trump, now don't complain when you come home with fleas and rabies.
