It almost (kind of) happened again today at the same location.

I've posted before about a fairly serious confrontation I had a few years ago with a Trumper. It was with a guy younger than me at a car dealership service waiting room. The guy was nasty. He got triggered by Chuck Schumer and Hillary on the TV. He opened his mouth, and I told him to shut the fuck up because I didn't agree with him, and that he was being rude for talking politics with a stranger. "Ohhhhh looks like I got a liberal on my hands...blah blah blah" One thing led to another, and it almost came to blows. He finally shut up and backed down.

I was in the same waiting room today getting my vehicle serviced. Unlike last time where just me and this guy were in the waiting room, it was fairly crowded. They have these comfortable leather chairs, and an elderly man hobbled over and sat down in the chair next to me. He complained about his arthritis, and I sympathized with him. He told me he just recently became a widower for the second time, and he just moved to town to be near his son. We had a really nice conversation, and I liked the guy. Just a very sweet old man, probably around 80 years old.

We got quiet for a minute, and then he said "I don't like the way people are treating our president. He's doing such a good job and they are going to impeach him". I started to say something like Awwww, you really think that he's doing a good job"? At that moment, the TV showed Nancy Pelosi walking down a hallway, and he said "I do like her though, she's a tough woman". So I don't know if he was conflicted or confused or whatever, but I just told myself there is no way I'm going to get in an argument with this sweet old guy, so I pulled a Trump on him and said "Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens". He nodded his head and went back to watching the TV. My service rep came in a few minutes after that and she told me my truck was ready. I shook the guy's hand and wished him well and left.

I don't know what it is about that waiting room, or maybe it's just me. Maybe I look like someone who they can talk to, I don't know.

It was quite a difference though between today and what happened there a few years ago.

I'll be so fucking glad when that guy is out of office.

asparagus are best? I get shoppers asking me advice always. Not sporting a store polo shirt with logo and name badge either...🤔 😁

You drive a truck? Mb why? They assume an identifier.

Don't mind me. Up way too late and babbling.

usually in a congenial manner...but people ALWAYS start a convo with me. Probably because I have a dumb look on my face and they feel safe.

I never used to mind this at all, but since Trump has been in office, I find myself hoping that they don't talk about current events.

Neighbor I'm hooked onto. Two units separated by some kinda wall. I dread speaking to her at times never knowing when she'll go off and 'share' about 'HIM' et al. I keep exchanges short. I could get heated up, but bc of her recent health issue, I watch. She knows I lean liberal. She's majorly hoodwinked. I get so exasperated.

If you look at the entire conversation we had, we kind of made a brief connection because we were talking about how difficult it is to get older, etc.

Angry Trumpsters seem to always be looking to unload their anger on somebody. It's pointless to reason with them. They see the world through a filter of anger.

I live on the red edge of a blue county. They see my local Democratic bumper stickers and seem to not want to talk about politics with me. I just try to keep it short and sweet. Did Mexico pay anything for that wall yet. When they mention trump, He sure is full of him self.
