(19,956 posts)It's funny that it really hasn't hit the news yet (much).....it this was the US, the queues to evacuate would be well under way !
From our Met Service
Met Éireann has said that it will continue to "closely monitor" Hurricane Lorenzo, which is currently over the south Atlantic Ocean.
The latest projections show that the major storm may come close to Ireland, but forecasters have said its exact path and strength in the North Atlantic are "very uncertain".
According to the US National Hurricane Centre, Lorenzo has strengthened to a category 5 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 250km/h.
The NHC said that it was the strongest hurricane on record this far north and east in the Atlantic basin.
It is currently 2,000km southwest of the Azores island group.

My friends and I were freshers and made a vow the next day that he's never write that about us. We went out of our way to ace his course.

What's changed? Please explain your shift in position, a flip-flop one might say, on impeachment?

(268,998 posts)and then you can't stop the water. People wake up because the shtick doesn't measure up to the propaganda. What's more there are always people who are never afraid. They lead and others follow.
The real question is what will be done to ensure that all these criminals, mercenaries, racists, women haters and other such scumbags can't resurface in the mainstream.

(10,721 posts)There's no way impeachment will be even remotely bipartisan and there's no chance at conviction if Dems don't uncover more hard evidence. I'm optimistic that they will, but if they don't, this will backfire.
The phone call summary, the WaPo story about what Trump told Russian officials in the oval office and "your stonewalling proves you did something wrong" won't be enough. Dems need to compile a mountain of evidence.

I assume the whistleblower will testify behind closed doors. But we'll get a good idea what he has to say soon enough.

(10,721 posts)I'm going to assume the testimony will be behind closed doors, but even that probably won't keep the person's identity from being revealed.
If history is any judge, the whistleblower will be punished far more severely than the whistleblown. Let's hope this time is different.
