Culture change takes time. I notice in gyms, beaches and pools, tatoos are still working their way down the food chain. Even some millennials still getting them.

However, the tatoos will inevitably fade into the blood stream over time. Some tatoos will be cosmetically removed. The fad will fade more.

Seems that, just as some trumpers still smoke, some others will quit . . . trump.

The real loss for the GOP is every American under the age of 50. They're clinging so hard to Trump
and his Thru the Looking Glass administration that they've failed to notice that there's nowhere for
them to go after this. The same thing happened after Dubya and I have to say I was amazed that instead
of re-tooling their party for the twenty-first they went with reality TV. It's not sustainable.

Long before Trump, today’s GOP lost any ability to be constructive on just about anything. If something is good, they reflexively oppose it. People having healthcare? Oppose. People going to college? Oppose. Stopping gun massacres? Oppose. Renewable energy? Oppose.

Their entire policy on immigration is bigotry and hate. Their policy on the budget is to cut taxes for the wealthy. Their policy on elections is to have as few people as possible voting. Also, I’m not quite sure how a political party would be opposed to saving our environment, but here we are.

Now after Trump, they don't even have the economic principles (other than lower taxes) that used to energize them. What do they have left when the reality show guy is gone?
I think they'll still have hate, but they already have all the haters out there. That's not a growing population.

I think Trump could be the coffin in which the GOP is buried. I hope, anyway.

So share every time you see a tRumpy break from their trance. Let’s make sure the stories build into a wave that destroys his base.

or throw Trump over the side.
The terrible peril for McConnell (LOL, love it) is that all the Trumpers, which must be close to half of the GOP voters, could well be so furious they take it out on the GOP.

But that's in the short-term. He can decide that as long as he can hold the senate, by hook or crook, he can obstruct a Democratic president for 1-2 terms, and that will be easier and better for the GOP than losing with Trump.

We'll see. McConnell probably loathes Trump. Ryan is already acting like Spartacus or something, only cringing as he does it, so it isn't very effective. But he's in with Fox, and this could mean the Murdochs have decided greater ratings will come from Trump being wounded and outraged outside the White House.

So Trumpers from last election are not about to vote for Biden or Warren or any other Dem candidate.

How else could this shit show end.

Tea baggers, morans, Palin, conspiracy theory's, division, white supremacists and racial hate, and the ever popular, tots and pears.

All culminating in selling out our country to steal an election.

They never learned self control and allowed greed and the stupidity of the electorate to allow their misuse of the process. All ending in an illegitimate pResident.

Soon they will be history.

When they are gone, we need a thorough examination and reckoning about how we allowed ourselves to get so close to losing the Republic.

I have had an interesting view from an interesting angle

I live in a very rural area ... In 2003, I was asked what I really wanted to do with my life ... And I said ... I would love to take over a small town newspaper and tell people the truth. In 2006, that opportunity arose. I owned and edited for 10 years. The paper started winning awards ... I was named president of the area press association ... I loved what I was doing and felt there was a hopefulness ... Fast forward to election 2016 ...

80% Of the county and surrounding area voted for trump.

Make of it what you will, but imho they will accept whatever swill is being sold on the teevee

I've been fruitlessly engaging with quite a few members of his base over the weekend and they are having none of it. He's a victim. The Democrats are evil. Hillary (but oddly not Obama) is the cause of everything wrong in their lives. They may not be a majority of Americans, but there are still plenty of people who will support him even if he shot someone in broad daylight on Fifth Avenue. It's freaking bizarre!

The two groups of people who outspokenly support Trump are rednecks and emphatic Christians. The rednecks are racists who are terrified of diversity in inner cities, they are deathly afraid of losing white privilege, and they have bought in to scapegoating arguments about Mexicans pouring across the border to steal their jobs and benefits. They store their fear in ever larger gun closets and pass around bullshit information on facebook. The Christians only give a fuck about the supreme court and social issues like abortion, gay marriage, and transgender bathrooms. They are misogynistic and they do not mind the fact that Trump really pisses off educated liberals. There's obviously a lot of overlap between these two groups. The difference is class based more than cultural. I really don't think any of these people is going to bail on Trump over issues of election interference with Russia or the Ukraine I am sorry to say. They are too culturally aligned with his most base characteristics. They don't care that he's ignorant and offensive because he gives them what they want. And they don't care if he gets help from Russians or Ukrainians because as stupid as it is, I think they just see them as white people.
