2. Tax returns. Files on a server can be (partially) removed, or information never placed on them

You can foo-foo info on a tax return, but it's easily ferreted out with a subsequent audit.

It was a U.S. government server for top secret materials. Nothing private about it.

That log will identify the specific user who did something, as well, along with the date and time and identification of the computer where the access was made.

I don't know who, if anyone, has permission levels high enough to alter or remove that log.

When it comes to compartmented classified information, administration is very, very strict.

Here's a simple outline of the practices:

5. His tax returns won't show much, other than he's a liar regarding his income and business acumen.

There are no schedules for illegal payments, loans, quid pro qous, racism, incompetence, colluding with foreign countries, emoluments, etc.

The whistleblower complaint and Ukraine call summary is very clear-cut and easy to grasp (it led directly to a 13-point swing in public opinion regarding impeachment). If there are more conversations like that hidden in the server (including conversations with Putin), and Democrats can get their hands on said server, it'll be incredibly damaging. Combine that with damaging public testimony (from Volker, possibly from witnesses referenced by the whistleblower, etc.) and we might just have a shot at getting Trump out of office sooner rather than later.

Whereas tax returns won't be easily digested.
