Whistleblower in Ukraine scandal under federal protection

"60 Minutes" host Scott Pelley announced the network had obtained a letter indicating the whistleblower is under protection because they fear for their safety.

The letter from the whistleblower's lawyer, Andrew Bakaj, Compass Rose LLC, indicates that the office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) has activated "appropriate resources" to protect them.

Trump and his allies have sought to discredit the complaint and the whistleblower behind it.

The president on Sunday tweeted that the person who filed the complaint should be outed and said they will face "big consequences."
