RE: Safety Concerns Regarding the Intelligence Community Whistleblower
Dear Chairman Burr, Chairman Schiff, Vice Chairman Warner, and Ranking Member Nunes:
Enclosed please find correspondence to Acting Director Maguire conveying our serious concerns for our clients personal safety, as well as for others connected to this matter. Our concerns apply directly to the efforts your Committees wish to undertake.
Therefore, we call upon the political leadership of both parties to speak out in favor of whistleblower protection and reiterate that this is a protected system where retaliation is not permitted, whether direct or implied. We further expect that political leaders from both parties condemn any intimidation against our client and others.
I thank you in advance for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Andrew P.

(21,552 posts)Seems the lawyer was just expressing concern about the inflammatory rhetoric and wanting the committees to speak out in support of whistleblowers...........

(10,122 posts)but arguably should be.
As well, I hope that law firm is secure because a break in our hack there could lead to the whistleblower now that the whole world knows who the lawyer is that is representing them.
I think they're getting a little careless with who needs to know what.

(3,695 posts)I think being able to main anonymity is critical to the WB's safety and will be hard to do given the need to be interviewed and give depositions.
